November 6th, 2026
Beginning November 6, 2026, the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) Planning Department will begin a boundary reassignment for a Development Area in Southeast Cambridge. The proposed review includes the following schools:
The WRDSB will review the current holding school for the Hazel Glenn neighbourhood in Cambridge, located north of Dundas Street South between Vanier Drive and Attwater Drive. Students living here have been assigned to Moffat Creek Public School as their temporary holding school. The proposed change would see students living in the Hazel Glenn neighbourhood attend Giinawind Public School beginning in September 2027.
The Board of Trustees must approve the boundary reassignment before it is implemented. Regardless of the Board of Trustees’ decision at the conclusion of the process, there will be no changes before September 2027.
